An undulating 10K route starting at Springfield Park, down Bolton Road towards Tesco, left onto Roch Valley Way, cut the corner at the ginnel onto Bury and Bury & Rochdale Road, left towards Heywood at Queen's Park Road, left onto Rochdale Road East and back into the park.
Great value for money at £7, with £2 discount for UKA members and £1 extra on the day. In 2006 and 2007 the water was poured into cups absolutely brilliantly.
2008 Update
Once again the water was poured superbly, the demotion of the previous pourer to sock dispensation being a master stroke by the organisers.
In 2008 this race has sponsorship by JD (formerly known as JD Sports) with 1/3 of the £750 pot in randomly awarded prizes to about every 12th finisher. After an oppressively humid start, the heavens opened and boy did it rain. It was ark building time. The heavy rain didn't dampen the spirits and there was a great atmosphere and turn out.
