Apparently about 20% of community designs are filed by Germans and about 11% by the English.  As logos can be registered you can get protection in 15 countries (soon to be 25) for a mere 350 Euros WITHOUT the class of goods limitation which would apply to a trade mark. Not bad eh?

The Community Designs Bulletin may be searched either by entering text in the Bulletin Quick Search field, or using the Web Site Search facility, theme "Community Designs Bulletin". Files containing the text entered will be listed in the results pages, and include text relating to:

• Name and address of the applicant, representative, or designer - All results will be listed, for example if the same person acts as applicant of one design and as representative or designer of another
• Matching file or registration numbers
• Date of filing, date of entry into the Register, or date of publication
• Locarno classification - e.g. 09-01 for products classified in that class
• Indication of products

Allows you to search for applications for design registration and registered designs based on a wide range of data fields.

All data published in the Australian Official Journal of Designs can be searched on ADDS.  Representations of all registered designs from 1985 (Registration number 90,000) to present are now online.  (Thanks to Victor Portelli, Deputy Registrar of the Australian Designs Office, and his team for this update.)

The search functionality in ADDS includes searching on names of applicant/owners and authors, lodgement and registration information and International Design Classification. Searches can be limited to date ranges.
